Blackstone is a generic term for Black Jasper. It lacks the sheen of Black Tourmaline and Black Onyx. However, it tends to be a very affordable stone. Some varieties of blackstone have been permanently dyed to enhance their natural color. Blackstone, with its satiny, moderate gloss polish is great for accenting or mixing with contrasting gemstones, and blends nicely with either gold or silver beads and findings.
